Chibok Update: UNIPORT alumni call for prayers for abducted schoolgirls

The University of Port Harcourt Alumni Association has called for special prayers across the country for schoolgirls abducted in Chibok, Borno State by the Boko Haram insurgents. In a statement, the acting President of the association, Chief Edward Ngene, said the prayers would complement the efforts of security agents to ensure the girls were rescued and returned to their families unscathed. The association also condemned what it called the mindless killing of innocent Nigerians in Nyanya bomb blasts.
It described the perpetrators of both crimes as Satan incarnates, saying they would have their portion in hell fire.
The association commiserated with the families that lost their loved ones in the blast and prayed to God to give them grace to bear the loss.
The Uniport Alumni expressed concern over the fate of the abducted schoolgirls and prayed to God to fast-track their unconditional release.
The association urged Nigerians to be patient with President Goodluck Jonathan and his security team, expressing belief in the president’s assurance that Nigeria would triumph over Boko Haram.
